From the Central Valley to San Jose

Day 1 Central Valley
Arrive and transfer to Finca Rosa Blanca, a luxury hotel and coffee plantation overlooking the Central Valley and surrounding volcanoes. The hotel has been awarded the highest possible CST rating and serves wonderful fresh food from its fruit plantation, greenhouse and herb garden.
Days 2–4 Playa Carbonera
Fly to Puerto Jimenez and transfer to the Lapa Rios Ecolodge, rated Top Hotel in Central America by Condé Nast Traveler. Built 350 feet above the Pacific and surrounded by tropical rainforest, it offers 16 huge bungalows, rainforest hikes, bird watching, surfing, horseback riding on deserted beaches, a splendid infinity pool and improbably good food (included in the rate).
Days 5–6 San Ramon
Fly to San José and transfer to the San Ramon area and the Villa Blanca Cloud Forest Hotel, a 75-acre boutique property surrounded by the most diverse and accessible cloud forest in Central America. A forest tour, with the chance to climb Azahar Peak and spot the elusive quetzal - a remarkable bird thought to be magical by indigenous communities - is included the next day.
Days 7–9 Nicoya Peninsula
Fly via San José to the Punta Islita airstrip on the Nicoya Peninsula, home to some of Costa Rica’s best beaches. Spend three nights at Hotel Punta Islita, staring out across the Pacific from the breathtaking infinity pool or relaxing in your room’s private plunge pool.
Days 10–11 San José
Return to San José for a final night at Finca Rosa Blanca before transferring to the airport the next day.
