Suggested Itinerary

Day 1 Toronto
Arrive in Toronto and transfer independently to the historic Fairmont Royal York. Pick up your travel documents upon check-in and the remainder of the day is free to start exploring the city.

Day 2 Toronto
This morning explore Toronto and visit landmarks such as the Rogers Centre (formerly SkyDome) and the CN Tower for panoramic city views or head to the Eaton Centre for a spot of shopping. In the afternoon pick up your car and drive to Niagara Falls. Your route will take you through Ontario's scenic wine-growing region and we highly recommend a stop in the picturesque town of Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Day 3 Ottawa
Drive east towards Kingston following the shoreline of Lake Ontario passing through small communities and villages along the way. Continue northwards along the Rideau Heritage Route which intermittently follows the Rideau River through riverside towns such as Smith Falls and Edmond's Lock before arriving in Canada’s national capital. Overnight at the Fairmont Le Chateau Laurier.

Day 4 Québec City
Visit Ottawa's Parliament Buildings, or the National Gallery perhaps, or take a tour of the Royal Canadian Mint before you travel into the neighbouring province of Québec along the north shore of the mighty St Lawrence River to Québec City for a two-night stay at the grand dame of Canadian railway hotels and the city's most famous landmark - the quite superb Fairmont Le Château Frontenac.

Day 5 Québec City
Founded in 1608 Québec is Canada's oldest city. It's also the only walled city in North America and a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. See the Latin Quarter, the Plains of Abraham, the Citadel and Fortifications, the Basilica and many other sights on a guided tour before enjoying free time to explore on your own. Stroll through the narrow cobbled streets of the old city and be sure to sample one of the many excellent cafes, bistros or restaurants. And there's plenty to choose from - the Québécois adore good food!

Day 6 Montréal
Today’s scenic drive will take you through the beautiful regions of Mauricie / Bois-Francs and Lanaudiere to the vibrant, cosmopolitan city of Montréal. Formula 1 enthusiasts may want to include a stop in Berthierville to visit the Gilles Villeneuve Museum. In Montréal be sure to visit the Notre-Dame Basilica or the Montréal Museum of Fine Arts. There's great shopping in the underground city or in the boutiques of Old Montréal. Head to Mont-Royal Park for the best city views or join a guided bike tour for an excellent alternative to traditional city tours. Overnight at Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth Hotel.

Day 7 Kingston
Travel to the Thousand Islands region and Kingston. There you can visit the colonial grounds of Queen's University or the museum of the Royal Military College, the oldest military academy in Canada and you will join a 1000 Islands cruise to see the magnificent scenery and island landscape that's dotted with luxurious cottages and vast estates including Boldt Castle, Zavikon Island and Millionaire's Row. Overnight at the Radisson Hotel Kingston Harbourfront.

Day 8 Toronto
Return to Toronto, drop off your hire car and check-in at the airport for your flight back to the UK.
