Celebrating 100 years of the Calgary Stampede

Join the centennial celebrations of the Calgary Stampede (also known as ’The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth’) before embarking on a journey on board the famous Rocky Mountaineer train. Travel from Banff to Vancouver through the dramatic and ever changing scenery of the incredible Canadian Rockies.

Day 1 Calgary*
Upon arrival in Calgary, transfer independently to your hotel for a four-night stay.

Day 2-3 Calgary
The Calgary Stampede showcases the very best in Rodeo with numerous events, exhibits and diverse entertainment. During the next two days you’ll relive the cowboy days of the old frontier with Chuckwagon Races, Rodeos including Saddle Bronco, Bareback and Bull riding events and a dazzling Grandstand Show.

Day 4 Calgary
Day at leisure to explore the Stampede City. An optional city tour includes Fort Calgary, Scotsman Hill and admission to the Canada Olympic Park and a ride up the ski-jump tower.

Day 5 Banff
Full-day sightseeing transfer through the ranching country west of Calgary. Sights include Tunnel Mountain Drive, Stoney Nakoda Resort, Bow Falls and the Hoodoos. A ride on the Sulphur Mountain gondola will afford you panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Spend two nights in Banff.

Day 6 Columbia Icefield
Travel along the famous Icefields Parkway to the Columbia Icefield for some of the most dramatic and spectacular landscapes in the world and a chance to venture onto the Athabasca glacier aboard a specially designed Ice Explorer vehicle. Before returning to Banff you’ll also make a stop at Peyto and Bow Lake at the Crowfoot Glacier.

Day 7 Rocky Mountaineer
From the comfort of the Rocky Mountaineer train you will travel through the breathtaking Kicking Horse Pass into the arid ranch land of interior British Columbia. This spectacular journey ends in Kamloops - evening is at leisure.

Day 8 Rocky Mountaineer
Back on board the Rocky Mountaineer you will embark on a journey through the ’cowboy country’ ranchlands and along the rushing torrents of the Fraser and Thompson Rivers. The final stretch of to Vancouver will take you past lush farmlands and historic towns. Transfer to your hotel for a three-night stay.

Day 9 Vancouver
Discover Vancouver on a hop-on / hop-off trolley tour. Take in the sights of historic Gastown, English Bay, Granville Island, the colourful totem poles of Stanley Park and for shopping, head to Robson Street.

Day 10 Victoria
Cruise through the scenic Gulf Islands to Victoria - the provincial capital of British Columbia. On a city tour you will see Victoria’s stately homes and historic landmarks including the Parliament Buildings and pay a visit to the acclaimed Butchart Gardens. Return to Vancouver in the early evening.

Day 11 End of Tour
Transfer independently to Vancouver International Airport for your onward journey or return flight to the UK.
