Uma Paro is situated on a Himalayan hillside overlooking Paro, one of Bhutan’s main cultural centres. The dramatic landscape features pine-clad valleys and snow-tipped mountain ranges, rice paddies, wheat fields, trout-filled streams and scattered villages.
Paro and the surrounding valley are home to a rich variety of monasteries and temples, local markets and museums, which can be visited on day walks, camping treks and mountain bike or jeep excursions.
20 rooms and 9 villas blend modern lines and Bhutanese wall designs, carved wooden windows and intricate doors. Superior rooms overlook pine forests, and deluxe rooms and suites have spectacular views over the valley.
Food at the Bukhari restaurant is modern and light, using fresh local produce and combining traditional Bhutanese offerings with contemporary interpretations of Asian cuisine including Indian tandoori dishes.

The spa: The COMO Shambhala Retreat offers Asian-inspired treatments including massage, facials and authentic Ayurvedic therapies to restore the body’s natural balance.
Signature Treatment: Hot Stone Bath & Massage uses a traditional Bhutanese stress relief treatment in which hot river stones are placed in a bath to crack and steam, releasing key minerals that relieve deep-set aches and pains. The bath is followed by a relaxing COMO Shambhala massage.
