Ranch America - save up to 50%
Discover America’s real Wild West with a ranch holiday - whether you are an expert on horseback, a novice or have never sat in the saddle before you’ll quickly warm to the ranch experience.
And there’s so much more than just riding on offer - you can do as much or as little riding as suits you. The range of activities on offer supplemental to riding is enormous. Depending on the ranch you choose and the time of year, you might find yourself whitewater rafting, fishing, cattle driving, line dancing, camping out in the wilderness, visiting - or even starring in a rodeo, or simply lying back and relaxing by the pool.
No two ranches are the same. They vary from large resort ranches with luxurious amenities down to small working ranches where you literally become one of the ranch hands.
The ranches below are offering savings of up to 50% for travel until October 2009, so if you’ve ever fancied yourself as a cowboy why not contact us to help you find the perfect ranch holiday for you and your travelling companions.
Montana
America’s ‘Big Sky Country’ forms an unforgettable landscape with its jagged peaks, soothing plains and wide open spaces. It is the perfect state for outdoor life.
Lonesome Spur Ranch
This is a real working ranch ideal for the more experienced rider, suitable for couples and single travellers and for those wanting a personalised experience as the ranch normally caters for around 10-12 guests. It’s set in spectacular countryside in the Clarks Fork Valley, between the Pryor and the Beartooth Mountains.
You may participate in as much or as little as you wish on the ranch, although we recommend you get involved in the horse round-ups and cattle driving.
The riding program here is quite extensive and also includes opportunities to try your hand at team penning, cutting, sorting and team roping.
Accommodation is based in log cabins and a bunkhouse, all decorated in a western theme and equipped with a private deck. The more adventurous are welcome to try the Indian teepees and a covered wagon.
Local Attractions include trips to Yellowstone National Park, viewing the Pryor Mountain Wild Horse Range, touring the Buffalo Bill Museum in Cody, visiting the Old Trail Town, reliving the Battle of the Little Big Horn and visits to a real "whoop um up" rodeo.

Oklahoma
Oklahoma is a state of beautiful contrasts: from the rugged Wichita mountains to the lush pine forests of the Green Country, you’ll find nature on a big scale.
Tiger Mountain Ranch

Tiger Mountain Ranch is located in 923 acres of natural habitat. The wranglers here will show you the cowboy way, from horseback riding to shooting the guns of the Old West, roping, cattle ranching, or learning to live off the land. Take on the job of ranch apprentice and try your ranch hand at cattle checking for new calves, rotating cattle to new pastures and prowling for strays.
The ranch is affiliated with Moses Little Bear (of Comanche, Cherokee and Chumash descent) and his family, bringing you the experience of Native American arts and history which he has learnt from his family and other elders met along the pow-wow trail. Meet the descendants of the many legends of the Old West, learn how to throw a tomahawk, shoot a traditional Longbow, or play the Native American Flute. The more artistic can try bead-working, gourd crafting, dance and art.
Ranch facilities include a jacuzzi hot tub, bar, games room, private screening room, billiards, darts, board games, big screen TV and a lake for swimming, fishing and kayaking. Regular activities include skeet shooting, archery, hiking and fishing.
Children under 12 are able to ride at the ranch if they pass an onsite assessment, so they need to be fairly experienced riders.
There are 5 guestrooms in the main lodge, as well as comfortable teepees for an authentic Native Indian experience (cooled in the summer months and warmed in the winter).
