This highly popular tour is a favourite for exploring Turkey’s riches without the need to drive. Time is split between the fascinating Cappadocia region and historic Istanbul.
Day 1 ARRIVE IN ISTANBUL Fly to Istanbul, the exotic hub straddling the Bosphorous, where East meets West and modern meets ancient, and enjoy a private transfer to 4-star Best Western Empire Palace, an authentic hotel set in a historic Ottoman house, built in the 17th century.
Day 2 INSTANBUL Explore the city independently or book a sight-seeing trip with an informative local guide to the city or on a Bosphorous cruise.
Day 3 ISTANBUL Enjoy the city at leisure for a second day.
Day 4 ISTANBUL TO CAPPADOCIA Fly to Cappadocia and check in at Asina Hotel Cappadocia, in the old quarter of Ürgüp. The cave hotel has a history stretching back more than 1,500 years and provides a warm welcome. Three of the five rooms are carved direct form the rock.
Day 5 CAPPADOCIA Explore the Devrent Valley, home to ‘fairy chimneys’, Monks’ Valley, Göreme Open Air Museum and the citadel of Üçhisar on a full day tour.
Day 6 CAPPADOCIA Today’s full-day tour takes you to Red Valley to see rock churches, the underground city of Kaymakli, where Christians escaped persecution, and the natural castle of Ortahisar.
Day 7 CAPPADOCIA Discover the underground city of Derinkuyu, carved from the rock by early Christians, and the beautiful rock churches of Ihlara Valley. Or take a hot air balloon flight to gaze down upon the amazing landscape.
Day 8 RETURN TO LONDON Transfer to the airport and fly home.
