Nisbet Plantation, Nevis
Private retreat with fantastic service
Once the home of Admiral Nelson’s wife, Fanny Nisbet, this grand property was originally built as a sugar plantation in 1778 and it remains the Caribbean’s only original plantation house to be located on a beach.
Set within 30 acres of lush gardens on the beautiful island of Nevis, the plantation houses the 36 guest suites in 16 comfortable cottages. Much of the grandeur and colonial charm remains and, naturally, there’s a croquet lawn to complete the picture of colonial good living.
There are many excellent facilities and you’ll certainly enjoy high standards of service, accommodation and cuisine, which even features a great weekly beach barbecue, but most of all its the privacy and romance a stay here brings that will be your lasting impression.
We like: The high levels of guest satisfaction from fantastic service levels.
Best for: Couples looking for a private retreat.
