Itinerary
Day 1 Lima
Fly from London to Lima via Amsterdam with KLM. Transfer to the Exclusive Hotel in Miraflores for a 2 night stay.
Day 2 Lima
Optional morning tour of historic and modern Lima, one of the major cities in the Spanish Conquest of the Americas (not included).
Day 3 Sacred Valley
Morning flight to Cuzco, set high in the Andes Mountains. Transfer to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, visiting the Indian market at Pisac and the Inca fortress of Ollantaytambo en route. Overnight at the comfortable Casona Yucay.
Day 4 Machu Picchu
Transfer to Ollanta station and take the train to Machu Picchu, one of the world’s great travel experiences. Enjoy a guided tour of the ruins. Stay at the Machu Picchu Inn for 1 night.
Day 5 Cuzco
Morning at leisure before returning to Cuzco in the afternoon. Spanish churches and mansions sit alongside Inca remains in this ancient Inca capital. Transfer to Jose Antonio for 3 nights.
Day 6 Cuzco
Morning tour to the countryside around Cuzco, including Sacsayhuamán with its remarkable Inca masonry. Return to Cuzco and visit its historic buildings and the large baroque cathedral.
Day 7 Cuzco
At leisure in Cuzco. Optional traditional Andean theatre show ’Chaska’.
Day 8 To Lake Titicaca
Travel by first-class bus to Puno (approximately 8 hours), with stops en route. Travel under the high peaks past mountain villages and hillside terraces. Transfer to the Jose Antonio Hotel on the shores of Lake Titicaca for 2 nights.
Day 9 Lake Titicaca
Optional full day tour to the floating islands of the Uros Indians and Taquile Island (not included).
Day 10 To London
Fly to Lima. Optional day room use of the Costa del Sol Ramada airport hotel (not included). Connect with your evening flight to London, via Amsterdam.
Day 11 London
Evening arrival.
