There’s more to Oman than just Muscat. tour takes you out from the old port arrival point to discover the blue waters the Gulf of Oman, pristine white beaches, lush green plantations, mountain terrain, small fishing villages, sand dunes, Islamic architecture, Bedouins and their camels, canyons, castles and much more.
Day 1 - Muscat
Leave Muscat for a drive along the rugged coast to the Bimah sinkhole, past pristine beaches and lush plantations. Finish at Ras Al Junaiyz, a turtle sanctuary.
Day 2 - Wahiba Sands
Continue along the coast past small fishing villages, then head for the sand dunes and on to Jalan Bani Bu Ali to visit a 52-domed mosque. In the afternoon, it’s off to Wahiba Sands, home to red and white sand dunes, for some dune-bashing fun.
Day 3 - Jebel Akhdar
Visit a Bedouin household for traditional coffee and to learn about their lives and camels. After some visits to plantations and villages, you’ll head for Jebel al Akhdar, a unique spot in the Arabian Peninsula, where you can enjoy a crisp climate and explore fruit orchards.
Day 4 - Jebel Shams
Spend the day exploring pretty mountain villages, where stone dwellings are carved into the mountainside, then enjoy gazing at the spectacular views from Jebel Shams, part of the Jebel Akhdar mountain range.
Day 5 - Nizwa
Spend the day in Nizwa, the capital of the interior and birthplace of Islam in Oman, and see the historic town of Bahla, home to one of Oman’s finest castles.
Day 6 - Muscat
Leave the old capital and head for the plantations at Al Hamra for stunning valley views. Explore terraced farming in the mountain oasis of Bilad Said, and head back to Muscat, passing plantations on the way. Check in for two nights at Shangri La Barr Jissah.
Day 7 - Muscat
Enjoy a half-day tour of the capital and time to unwind at the hotel.
