Norwegian Lapland - or Finnmark as it is also known - is the home to Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel (formally the Alta Igloo). Every year this architectural splendour is built entirely from scratch. Everything from the beds and even the glasses in the ice bar are made from snow and ice. Each one of the 30 rooms is individually sculptured. The impressive designs and exquisite works of ice art offer visitors a truly memorable experience.
A trip to this dramatic area would not be complete without a snowmobile safari into the wilderness of the Finmarksvidda where lunch is served on route.
Remaining nights are spent at the Vica Hotel in Alta, which is ideal for those who want good personal service in cosy surroundings. You will be accommodated in 24 warm and welcoming high-standard rooms. Why not relax in the outdoor hot tubs whilst perusing the beautiful Altafjord with its surrounding mountains. Terms & Conditions
Itinerary:
Day 1 - Fly with Scandinavian Airlines to Alta in northern Norway via Oslo and self transfer to Hotel Vica.
Day 2 - Breakfast at Hotel Vica and free time to explore the town of Alta. In the afternoon you will be transferred to Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel where you will enjoy a 2-course dinner at the Laksestua restaurant.
Day 3 - Warm up in the sauna and have breakfast at the Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel. At 10:00 you’ll set off for a snowmobile safari on the Finnmarksvidda. Lunch in served en route in the wilderness. Transfer back to Alta town centre in the afternoon and check into the Vica Hotel, where your evening is spent at leisure.
Day 4 - Breakfast and self transfer to Alta airport and fly with SAS scheduled flight back home via Oslo.
