DAYs 1–2 OSLO Begin your journey in Oslo, Norway’s capital. Here, you can visit a number of impressive museums to brush up on your Norweigan history, before heading out to more remote regions. Also worth a visit is The Opera House, hosting world-class opera and ballet performances, and the old town, best explored walking the Akerselva River.
DAYs 3–4 BERGEN Drop into the former capital, idyllically placed among seven enormous mountains. Tour the city, visiting the cathedral and aquarium, then head out on the funicular railway and up to Mount Fløyen.
DAYs 5–6 Bodø Now head up to this small northern town, surrounded by beautiful scenery and close to the world’s most powerful maelstrom, Saltstraumen, where 400 million tonnes of seawater forces its way through a 150 m wide strait every six hours.
DAYs 7–8 Tromsø The Arctic city of Tromsø, the ‘Paris of the North’, only the seventh largest in Norway, is often considered to have the best nightlife, thanks to its large student population and never-ending days.
DAYs 9–10 STRAVANGER Your final flight takes you to Stavanger, a modern and lively city in western Norway, home to a wide range of museums and a great place for a spot of fishing or golf, skiing or tennis. A direct flight on the 11th day will take you back to the UK.
