Italian Cookery Course
Where better to learn Italian cookery than in the Tuscan hills tutored by Simone? Simone has learnt all his culinary skills from his grandmother and is tremendously impassioned about food, both in creating and enjoying the result.
The Forci Estate, lying in the middle of a vineyard and olive groves, is the perfect location for a cookery course. Guests have exclusive use of the private Villa Segalato tucked away on the estate, high in the hills above Lucca. The villa is classically Tuscan with a large kitchen, impressive lounge and six en suite bedrooms. Outside, the terrace has spectacular views across the valley and the swimming pool is perfect for an early morning swim.
DAY 1 ARRIVE PISA Arrive Pisa airport. You’ll be met and transferred to Villa Segalato, which is situated in the hills above Lucca. Enjoy welcome drinks and dinner on the terrace.
DAY 2 COOKERY LESON/WINE TASTING Enjoy a hands-on cookery lesson with Simone, lunch and time to relax. In the afternoon wander to the estate’s winery for a tutored wine tasting. Also take the chance to sample the estate’s own olive oil and honey. Take dinner at the villa.
DAY 3 COOKERY LESSON/LUCCA The second cookery lesson with Simone is in the morning and followed by lunch. In the afternoon, there is a visit to Lucca where you’ll have time to explore the city on foot before joining the ‘in crowd’ for an aperitif in the Piazza del Mercato – built on the site of a Roman amphitheatre. This evening’s dinner will be at Gino’s – a cosy trattoria high in the hills overlooking Lucca – with stunning views. The family cure their own meats as well as making their own cheeses, so a delicious dinner is guaranteed.
DAY 4 COOKERY LESSONS/DEPART PISA Your third and final cookery lesson with Simone takes place in the morning followed by lunch. In the afternoon transfer to the airport for your return flight to the uk.
