We have a number of Icelandic holiday options of various lengths, including this highly recommended eightday encounter, which provides the perfect introduction to the country – journeying along the ring road, Route 1.
DAY 1 REYKJAVIK Arrive in Reykjavik and collect your hire car at the airport before checking in to your hotel. Then enjoy an evening stroll around the delightful city.

DAY 3 NORTH COAST Turn onto the north shores and head to Akureyri, the ‘Capital of the North’, and Godafoss, the ‘Waterfall of the Gods’.

Over the following days there’s time to explore the ‘Golden Circle’, home to many geothermal wonders, the spectacular Gullfoss waterfall, and the Blue Lagoon, hugely popular with bathers who wish to benefit from the mineral-rich waters – and where, in winter months, you can often watch the Northern Lights as you relax in the naturally warm waters.
Prices from: £490–£700 pp incl. flights, transfers, 4 nights bb accommodation, guided coach excursions to the Northern Lights or whalewatching safari and ‘Golden Circle’ & non-guided excursion to the Blue Lagoon.
