Brief itinerary
Day 1 Cairo. On arrival in Cairo, you will be met by your tour co-ordinator and transferred to your hotel. Overnight at Grand Hyatt, Cairo.
Day 2 Giza. Escorted by an Egyptologist, your discovery of Egypt starts with a fascinating tour to the Great Pyramids and the legendary Sphinx. In the afternoon visit the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities and explore some of the 120,000 objects which include many from the world-famous tomb of the boy-king Tutankhamen. Days 3 - 10 Nile cruise onboard Sun Boat III. After check out you will be escorted to the airport for your flight to Luxor, where upon arrival you will be transferred to the Sun Boat III for your Nile cruise. Today’s sightseeing includes the Temple at Karnak and a chance to explore the Valley of the Kings and Queens, Hatshepsut Temple and a photostop at the Colossi of Memnon. This evening you will be welcomed by the Boat Manager and staff at a cocktail reception. Overnight onboard in Luxor.
Day 4 starts with an early sailing towards Nagaa Hammadi. This part of your cruise is very much off the beaten track, and passes through some of the most beautiful scenery along the Nile, far away from the crowds or other cruise boats. Visit Abydos before enjoying the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight onboard in Qena.
On Day 5 you’ll spend time at Denderah before cruising onward to Luxor where you’ll have the opportunity to see the graceful temple dedicated to the God Amun. Overnight onboard in Luxor.
On Day 6 your day’s sightseeing includes the temple at Karnak and the Greco-Roman Temple of Khnum at Esna. There’s an Egyptian cooking lesson back on board before dinner where you will be sampling traditional cusine and entertainment. Overnight onboard in Esna.
On Day 7 you’ll have the morning to explore the Temple of Horus at Edfu before an afternoon at leisure. Overnight onboard in Kom Ombo.
Day 8 includes a morning visit to Kom Ombo Temple while in the afternoon you’ll enjoy a enjoy a Felucca ride, a typical Egyptian sail boat, around Elephantine Island, Lord Kitchener’s Botanical Gardens, and the Agha Khan Mausoleum. Overnight on board in Aswan.
Day 9 takes you to Aswan’s High Dam, followed by a short motorboat ride to visit the romantic and majestic Philae Temple on the Island of Agilka. Tonight’s farewell dinner will be a gala dinner. Overnight on board in Aswan.
Day 10 Aswan to Cairo. After breakfast on board, disembark and transfer to Aswan airport for your flight to Cairo. Overnight Grand Hyatt, Cairo.
Day 11 Depart Cairo. After breakfast day at leisure before transferring to the airport for your return flight.
