Patrick GriffinCanada holiday expert

Patrick spent a year crossing America from San Francisco to New York, exploring everything from iconic cities to lesser-known travel gems, like Oregon’s Crater Lake National Park, which he describes as “overwhelmingly beautiful”. He’s since turned his attention to Canada, where his greatest find to date is the Saguenay River in Quebec: “Blue minke and beluga whales all playing in the sunshine”.

Rachel MostynCanada holiday expert

"Secluded Tofino [a small fishing community on the west coast of Vancouver Island, Canada] is a place I would love to return to," explains Rachel excitedly before launching into dreamy descriptions of a pristine wilderness: ancient coastal rainforests, miles of sandy beach and a rugged, windswept coastline. "Go in summer," she advises, "for excellent hiking and the chance to go kayaking with orcas." Rachel has also journeyed through the US.

Ralph SpenceCanada holiday expert

Throw a dart at a map of North America and the chances are that Ralph has been there, having travelled throughout Canada and the USA. "For a slower pace of life, some fascinating history and world-beating fishing, try Canada’s Maritime Provinces: Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Newfoundland, where the scenery is made all the more striking by the huge icebergs that drift down the coast from Greenland each spring, with the largest number in June."

Tessa RichmondCanada holiday expert

"I loved Victoria on Vancouver Island in Canada. Did you know you can hire a vintage car from just opposite the Fairmont Empress so you can tour around in style for a few fantastic hours!" As one of our most travelled consultants, Tessa understands when it’s worth spending extra, "Take the Rocky Mountaineer between Banff and Vancouver, one of the world’s most spectacular train journeys - upgrading to GoldLeaf means a seat in a glass-domed coach, superb food and wine and a guard in direct contact with the driver, able to point out the wildlife you could otherwise easily miss." Tessa has also visited America.

Vancouver Views - Vista Winter 2008

Dear Marcus [September],

Just some positive feedback on the excellent arrangements you made for my wife and I for our trip to Canada. All your arrangements worked perfectly and the hotels you chose for us were great. The only alteration we made was to upgrade to a harbour view at the Fairmont Waterfront in Vancouver. Overlooking the harbour from the 21st floor was something else.

Very many thanks for all your help.
