The greatest public-relations building since the pyramids.

Australia holiday experts at WEXAS will tailor-make all aspects of your itinerary to create a Australia holiday, personal to you.
Australia - consider it for a moment or two and you’ll have images of Sydney’s Opera House and Harbour Bridge, Uluru, cork-adorned hats, and yellow triangular signs warning of the dangers of kangaroos crossing popping into your head. Such images may not be truly representative of the country - big enough to fit in half of Europe - but they do indicate that this is a land like no other.
If you’re hoping to travel around all of Australia over two weeks, forget it. This place is too big. And it’s largely empty, with its 19 million people mostly living in the coastal cities - Darwin, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth - or just inland, in its small capital, Canberra. Each with its own mix of beauty, friendliness and calm.
But if its space you’re after, then you’ve come to the right place. Head to the Outback for humungous semi-deserts and tropical wetlands - explore Kakadu National Park to spot wildlife and Aboriginal rock art and Kata Tjuta National Park for a display of the changing colour of Uluru (Ayers Rock) as the sun sets (or rises). Elsewhere, its worth taking a hike through tall forests and a dive to examine the coral and sea life at the Great Barrier Reef.
Culturally there’s much to choose from too, from Aboriginal corroborees and Adelaide’s Festival of Arts, to full moon parties and Sydney’s notorious Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.

Australia tailor-made holiday highlights
SydneyThe country's oldest city and economic powerhouse. Cosmopolitan and blessed with sun-drenched natural attractions, dizzy skyscrapers, superb restaurants and friendly folk. Don't miss the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. Or catch the ferry to Manly for some laid back beach life.
Fraser Island The world's largest sand island is a fascinating landscape of uninterrupted beaches, oasis lakes surrounded by pure white sand, ancient rainforests and magnificent sand dunes. Hire a 4x4 and get on the island's main highway/runway, 75 Mile Beach. Whales and sharks can sometimes be spotted offshore and inland watch out for the wild dingos who appear when the barbie's on.
Kakadu In the heart of the Northern Territory, this World Heritage reserve encompasses a variety of landscapes, swarms with wildlife and showcases some of Australia's best Aboriginal rock art.
West coastThe west offers unspoilt Indian Ocean beaches and a vibrant and modern Perth, one of the most isolated cities in the world. Northerly Broome is an easy-going town and a centre for pearls. Ningaloo Reef is virtually untouched unlike its famous east-coast counterpart, and has a dazzling display of tropical fish and resident whale sharks.
OutbackIt's incredibly vast, but the Outback is a true Australian experience. Popular for bushwalking and characterised by colourful towns with fair dinkum Aussie pubs. The highlight for many is Uluru (Ayers Rock), a site of deep cultural significance to the Anangu Aboriginals. It's especially impressive at dawn and dusk when the red rock changes colour.
